EXHIBITIONS:
”Rainbow Searchers – Cazadores de Arcoiris”
The first group exhibition of six professional contemporary artists; Francisco Castillo, Carlos León, William Pinillos, Joselito Sabogal, Wilo Vargas and Héctor Acevedo. These artists from the city of Trujillo are all former students of “Macedonio de la Torre” (School of Fine Arts) and they have all been rewarded several art prizes (Gallery)
“Peru seen through a lense” – Jaakko Jaskari´s photographs. Taken during his trip to Lima, Cuzco, Inca path, Machu Picchu and Titicaca lake.

Andean Ceramic Artworks – Cesar Aguilar

PROGRAM FOR THE PERUVIAN CULTURAL MONTH - CAISA, 6-23 FEBRUARY 2007 -
Events :
Tue 6 feb at 17:00 pm : Opening /Cocktail
Wed 7 feb at 18:30 pm. : Literary Evening: Peruvian Poetry and Prose - “Encuentro con la Literatura Peruana”.
Thu 8 feb at 18:30 pm. : Presentation of the film “Madeinusa” (2006) of the Peruvian movie director Claudia Llosa.
Friday 9 feb at 18:30 pm. : Concert of Quartet “NuevAmente”, directed by the Peruvian musician Luis Fiestas.
Saturday 11 feb at 18:30pm. : Presentation of the Film “"Destiny Has No Favorites" (2003) of the Peruvian movie director Alvaro Velarde.
Activities :
- “RAINBOW SEARCHERS” – CAZADORES DE ARCOIRIS (ART EXHIBITION) : 6 known artists from the city of Trujillo show their colorful contemporary art works (Joselito Sabogal, William Pinillos, Willo Vargas, Carlos León, Francisco Castillo and Héctor Acevedo).
- “PERU SEEN THROUGH A LENSE” : Photographic exhibit of photos taken by the finnish artist JAAKKO JASKARI (showing pictures of landscapes and of people´s daily life) and of Ambassador Kimmo Pulkkinen (showing faces of Peruvian people from different regions of the country).
- LA ALPACA : Showroom of Alpaca Woolen Clothes and Garments, imported by the finnish company La Alpaca.
- ANDESA : Showroom of superb Coffee and Peruvian Handicrafts of Chulucanas and modern Lamp designs, imported by Andesa.
- ANDEAN CERAMIC ARTWORKS : Showroom of Ceramic inspired in Andean Culture, created by Peruvian artist and musician César Aguilar.
- NEW TENDENCIES BY YOUNG PERUVIAN ART STUDENTS (from the Catholic University and the Superior School of Fine Arts “Corriente Alterna”) : presentation of Art on Canvas, drawings and designs, as well as original carved and painted Ostrich eggs.
Note 1: The montage of all the activities will take place between 3-5 February. The “removal of art works”, between 23th and 25th feb 2007. The artist must be already in Helsinki at latest by February 3.
Note 2 : The “Opening Ceremony” at 5pm on Tuesday 6 February will include the showing of a promotion video of Peru of about 10 minutes of duration, followed by speeches, the presentation of 2 music pieces by Quartet “NuevAmente” and also 1 piece of a Peruvian melody with folklore Harp performed by Salla Hakkola. After the Ceremony the guest will be invited to go to the third floor (exhibition salon) for the inauguration Cocktail (which will include Peruvian food and drinks). The dishes, cups, forks, napkins, etc. will be furnished by Caisa.
Note 3: The list of guests (250 plus avec) from the Embassy side, will be given to Caisa at latest the 10th January 2007. 100 invitations more will be given to the Embassy, to be distribute between the members of the Peruvian community in Finland.
Note 4: The invitations will be sent by CAISA and distributed, with the catalogue, at latest on 15th January 2007.
Note 5 : The Embassy, for their office record – Cultural Section- , and also to send to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Peru in Lima, will need 25 catalogues and 25 invitations, forwarded by Caisa. Also catalogues and invitations will be given in a reasonable number to all the participants of all the events.
