The Peruvian Embassy in Helsinki represents the Republic of Lithuania since April 2004. Until 2003 this correspondence was carried out by the Peruvian Embassy in Sweden. However Sweden looks after the consular jurisdiction because the respective Supreme Decree has not been modified to this day..
Our bilateral relation with the Republic of Lithuania is of interest to both countries in order to fulfil their political connections with other democratic states and to diversify the economic liaisons and cooperation, particularly with other economies in the market.
The conjuncture is more appropriate for establishing institutional connections and in breaking ice for juridical milestones that create appropriate maintenance for bilateral relations. Both countries are currently processing future agreements to improve cooperation in the field of tourism as well as the suppression of visa for diplomatics
An agreement on touristic cooperation between Peru and Lithuania is being negotiated, as well as an agreement on visa suppressions for diplomatic passports. It is important to mention that tourism from Lithuania to Peru has grown in a significant level in the last few years. From 2002 to 2006 it has been registered a growth of 600%. |
